Samsung Galaxy A-series in India is set to get a refresh later this month. The company has confirmed the launch of a new Galaxy A-series smartphone in India on January 18. The teaser microsite reveals the specifications and features of the upcoming Galaxy A-series phone. However, it does not explicitly mention the name of the phone. Based on the features teased, it is likely that more than one Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphone could be unveiled at the event on January 18 in India.
The teaser image confirms that the phone will be launched in multiple colours. These will be Awesome Black, Awesome Burgundy and Awesome Green. The colours are the same as the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G, which was launched in the US and Europe earlier this month. The microsite also reveals that the upcoming Galaxy A-series phone in India will feature a 6.6-inch 120Hz display. This means that the device could be the rumoured Galaxy A34 5G or the Galaxy A54 5G.
In addition to this, Samsung has confirmed that the upcoming device will feature support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). There will be a triple-camera setup on the back. Previously leaked renders show that the teased image of the camera module is similar to the Galaxy A34 5G and the Galaxy A54 5G.
One of the teasers also shows a phone with a waterdrop notch display. This suggests that the Galaxy A14 5G might make its way to India alongside the other phone, which could launch on January 18.
The device(s) is confirmed to get 5G network support. The fine prints at the bottom of the site further reveal that the phone will launch with 8GB of RAM.
The future teasers are expected to reveal more details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A-series phones, especially the official moniker.
The Galaxy A14 5G is the only phone from the series, which is available in global markets but is yet to make it to India. Samsung has launched variants of the Galaxy A04 already in the country. The Galaxy A34 5G and the Galaxy A54 5G could debut in India on January 18.
Some details about the Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G have been leaked already. The Galaxy A34 5G is rumoured to sport a 6.5-inch AMOLED Ful HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate support. The display will have a water-drop notch at the top for the front camera. It is said to feature a 48MP triple-camera setup. The phone will also pack a 5000mAh battery and support 25W fast charging. For selfies, the phone will have a 13MP front camera. Lastly, the device is likely to feature an Exynos 1280 SoC under the hood.
The Galaxy A54 5G, on the other hand, is said to sport a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate display. There will be an in-display fingerprint scanner and up to 8GB of RAM. The phone is also rumoured to feature an Exynos 1380 SoC, a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging and a 50MP triple-camera setup with OIS support. There could be an IP67 rating for water resistance.
All three phones are likely to run Android 13-based One UI 5.0 out of the box in India.
