Samsung has launched a new smartphone in India today under its A-series line up – the Galaxy A10s. This smartphone is a slightly upgraded variant of the Galaxy A10 that was launched in India earlier. The Galaxy A10s not only offers improved camera hardware, a slightly more powerful processor, and a larger battery compared to the Galaxy A10, but the Galaxy A10s also comes with a fingerprint scanner which the Galaxy A10 misses out on. Let us have a detailed look at the price, availability, and specifications of the Galaxy A10s
Samsung Galaxy A10s Price in India
Samsung has launched the Galaxy A10s in India in two variants – 2GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. The former costs INR 9,499, while the latter comes with a price tag of INR 10,499. Both memory configurations can be had in Green, Blue, and Black color variants. The smartphone will go on sale starting today through Samsung’s online store, major e-commerce websites, and Samsung offline stores.
Samsung Galaxy A10s Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A10s has the same 6.2-inch LCD that the Galaxy A10 offers. The display has an HD+ resolution, and a V-shaped notch at the top which Samsung calls Infinity-V Display. There is, however, no Gorilla Glass protection over the display, which is quite disappointing considering that competing smartphones offer the same.
The smartphone comes powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, which has an eight Cortex-A53 cores and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. This chipset is slightly more powerful than the Exynos 7884 that is in the Galaxy A10. Therefore, you can expect a slight bump in performance with the Galaxy A10s, compared to the Galaxy A10. The OS is Android 9 Pie covered in Samsung’s One UI.
The Galaxy A10s features two rear cameras – a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A10, on the other hand, had only a 13MP rear camera. Samsung has also upgraded the front-facing camera – the Galaxy A10s features an 8MP selfie camera instead of a 5MP unit in the Galaxy A10. The rear, as well as, the front-facing camera of the Galaxy A10s can record Full HD videos.
The Galaxy A10s sports a 4000mAh battery, which, again, is a huge upgrade from the 3400mAh unit in the Galaxy A10. The Galaxy A10s also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which the Galaxy A10 lacks. The connectivity options in the A10s, however, remain the same as its predecessor; you get dual-SIM with dual-4G and dual-VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro USB port.
Should You Buy the Samsung Galaxy A10s?
Nope, you shouldn’t buy the Galaxy A10s, at least in my opinion. And why is that? Well, for the same price as the Galaxy A10s you can get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S. The one from Xiaomi not only offers a significantly powerful processor, but also comes with a vastly better front and rear cameras, much better display, better build quality, and advanced connectivity options compared to the Galaxy A10s. You can also go with the Realme 5, which is better than the Galaxy A10s in almost every manner.
