Samsung, the Korean tech giant, has quietly unveiled a new Galaxy A-series handset – Samsung Galaxy A13 5G. The latest Galaxy A-series handset is the cheapest 5G-enabled Galaxy handset to date. The handset is powered by a mid-range MediaTek Dimensity processor, and a large battery. The Galaxy A13 5G comes with a 50MP camera setup and a 90Hz refresh rate display. The smartphone is priced at $249.99 (approx Rs. 18,746) in the United States and will be available starting December 3, i.e., tomorrow.

The latest Galaxy A-series handset comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 720 x 1600 pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display panel features a waterdrop notch which the company calls Infinity-V display.


The handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC that is built on a 7nm fabrication process. It features an integrated Mali G57 GPU that takes care of graphics-related tasks. It packs 64GB storage which can further be expanded via the micro-SD card slot. The handset boots the company’s proprietary OneUI which is based on Android 11.

Talking about the cameras, the handset offers a triple-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The primary 50MP sensor on the handset is accompanied by a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 5MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.

The handset is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and 15W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner (embedded in the power button), a 3.5mm audio jack, and Samsung Pay (NFC supported).
