Samsung Galaxy A15 will reportedly be the first A-series smartphone from the brand to feature an OLED panel. According to the South Korean publication The Elec, Samsung is considering equipping the Galaxy A1 series with an OLED panel. If that’s true, the Galaxy A15 set to launch in the first half of 2024 will be the first entry-level offering to get it. Notably, Samsung already uses OLED panels in its Galaxy A2 series smartphones and the entry-level Galaxy A1 series was sticking to the LCD panel. Let’s take a look at the latest development.
Samsung Galaxy A15 Tipped to Come With OLED Display
According to the report, Samsung plans to use a rigid OLED panel on the Galaxy A15, which was also used on the Galaxy A24. Notably, high-end flagship devices use flexible OLEDs using polyimide substrates, whereas rigid OLEDs use glass substrates. The Elec states that Chinese display makers have been selling flexible OLEDs at a lower price, which has reduced the demand for rigid OLED panels. It has also resulted in the lower price of rigid OLED panels compared to LCD. By using the rigid OLED panel in its entry-level devices, Samsung is planning to improve the utilisation rate of the Samsung Display’s rigid OLED panels.
Samsung Galaxy A15 Specifications (Rumoured)
