Samsung Galaxy A20 Launched with 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Display, 4,000 mAh Battery: Price, Features

Samsung is in the process of completely refreshing its Galaxy A smartphone lineup. After launching the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30, and the Galaxy A50 in India last month, the South Korean smartphone brand has now unveiled the Samsung Galaxy A20 in Russia. The smartphone sits somewhere between the Galaxy A10 and the Galaxy A30, both in terms of features and pricing.

The Samsung Galaxy A20 features a larger, 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen, Android 9 Pie-based One UI software, an octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, dual-camera setup at the rear, a U-shaped screen notch to accommodate the selfie camera, and a large-capacity battery. Let us have a look at its pricing before moving on to its features and specifications.

Samsung Galaxy A20 Price, Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A20 is currently available only in Russia, and it can be purchased for around INR 15,176 (USD 215). However, it should be noted that prices of smartphones are generally higher in Russia, and we expect the phone to carry a price tag that’s lower than USD 200 (or around INR 10,000 in India).

We expect the phone to go on sale in European as well as Indian market later this month. The company could launch the Galaxy A20 in India along with the Galaxy A70 and the Galaxy A90, for which Samsung has scheduled an event on April 10.

Samsung Galaxy A20 Features Super AMOLED Screen, Exynos 7884 SoC, 4000mAh Battery

The Galaxy A20 has the same “glasstic” body as that of the Galaxy A10 and some Galaxy M-series smartphones. At the front, the phone features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with HD+ resolution (1560×720 pixels) and a U-shaped notch at the top-middle part. At the rear, the Galaxy A20 has a capacitive fingerprint reader. There is a 13MP+5MP dual-camera setup on the phone’s rear, making it possible for users to capture images with background blur. The 13MP camera sensor has an autofocus mechanism and it can also capture 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. At the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera, which can record Full HD videos.

The phone runs Samsung One UI, which is based on Android 9 Pie operating system. The Galaxy A20 uses the Exynos 7884 chipset, which is also used in the Galaxy A10. The Exynos 7884 has an octa-core 64-bit CPU and Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. This chipset can be viewed as a close competitor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. There’s 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot, too, for storage expansion (up to 512GB cards are accepted). The Galaxy A20’s connectivity features include a dual-SIM card slot, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also gets a 4000mAh battery, but we still don’t know if Samsung has equipped its phone with 15W fast charging.
