Samsung‘s latest foot-soldier in its battle against Xiaomi’s budget phone has reached the Indian shores. The Galaxy A20s is now available for purchase via online and brick-and-mortar shops. The successor of the Galaxy A20 was announced last month. It offers an elegant yet trendy design. At the back, the device sports a glass-like finish that reflects an interesting light pattern. Samsung has added a fingerprint sensor on the device’s back. However, it misses out on the AMOLED display found on its predecessor. This time around, Samsung has settled for an LCD panel. For more details, head over to the features sections.
Samsung Galaxy A20s Specifications
The Galaxy A20s sports a 6.4-inch HD+ LCD, which is a step-down from the AMOLED screen of its previous iteration. LCD due to its dependence on a backlight cannot match the color vibrancy and contrast levels of AMOLED technology. The display has a waterdrop notch to hold a front-facing camera. Samsung hasn’t mentioned whether the display comes with Gorilla Glass protection. Moving on to the performance, the Galaxy A20s is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset. It comes with up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Moreover, you get a microSD card slot.
On the photography front, you get a 13 MP rear camera accompanied by an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide, and 5 MP depth sensor. For selfie aficionados, there’s an 8 MP front-facing shooter. This module also powers the face-unlock feature. The phone can record Full HD videos at 30 fps.
In terms of connectivity features, you get dual SIM 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and A-GPS (assisted GPS). Other features include USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and FM radio. The phone draws power from a 4,000 mAh battery. It supports 15 W fast charging. The phone is based on Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI on top.
Samsung Galaxy A20s Price And Availability
The base model of the Galaxy A20s with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage is priced at Rs 12,000. For 4 GB RAM variants with 64 GB internal storage, you will have to spend Rs 14,000. The device is available for purchase right away via Samsung India’s website, Amazon, Flipkart, and crick-and-mortar shops. Users will get to choose from black, blue, and green hues.
The phone takes on Xiaomi’s recently launched Mi A3 smartphone that offers a 6-inch HD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 665 chip, and triple camera setup. The best part, however, is the Mi A3’s premium metal and glass build. You can check out its review by following this link.
