Samsung has quietly announced the Galaxy A22 series. The new Galaxy A-series smartphone comes in 4G and 5G variants. The 4G variant comes with a 90Hz HD+ AMOLED display. Galaxy A22 5G, on the other hand, has a larger 6.6-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD. The 4G variant draws power from a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, whereas the 5G model gets a Dimensity 700 SoC. On the back, the 4G variant has a quad-camera setup, whereas the 5G variant has a triple-camera module. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy A22 series specifications, features and other details.

Samsung Galaxy A22 4G

 The 4G variant features a 6.4-inch AMOLED HD+ display. It has a 90Hz refresh rate support. The screen has a tiny water-drop notch on top, which Samsung calls an Infinity U-display. 

Under the hood, the 4G variant draws power from a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. It comes in 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB storage options. It also gets a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.


The device packs a 5000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. It has a 13MP front camera sensor inside the notch. The quad-camera setup on the back has a 48MP f/1.9 primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). It also has an 8MP ultrawide sensor and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro.

The device comes in four colours – Violet, Mint, Black, and White. It weighs 186 grams and is 8.4mm thick. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, etc. The device runs Android 11-based One UI 3.0 out of the box.

The 5G variant has a larger 6.6-inch IPS LCD with 60Hz refresh rate support. It has a Full HD+ resolution and a water-drop notch on top. The phone comes with an 8MP front camera sensor. It has a triple-camera setup on the back. The device has a 48MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Under the hood, the device draws power from a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC. It comes in 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+128GB. The device packs a 5000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support via USB Type-C.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock. The device runs Android 11-based One UI 3.0 out of the box.
