The Samsung Galaxy A22s 5G smartphone has been unveiled in Russia. While the device is yet to go on sale, it appears to be based closely on the Galaxy A22 5G smartphone that was unveiled in India earlier this year. The device is likely a small rebranding exercise from Samsung before putting it up for sale in a different market, and therefore, the specifications of the new phone are almost entirely identical to the device that is already available in India.

Samsung is yet to announce the pricing or availability of the smartphone in Russia. However, it has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A22s 5G will be available in two RAM and storage variants – one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and the other with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Each of the three variants will also be available in three colour variants – Mint, Gray and White. In India, the Galaxy A22 5G is priced onward of Rs 18,499.

Key specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A22s 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, powered by the aforementioned RAM and storage variants. This pegs the device as a mid-range, affordable 5G smartphone. It is based on Android 11 running the One UI custom interface on top, and display duties are handled by a 6.6-inch, full HD+ screen with 90Hz refresh rate. The device also has a waterdrop notch on the display.

To the rear, the Galaxy A22s 5G in Russia features a 48MP main camera, along with additional 5MP and 2MP camera modules as part of the triple rear camera setup. To the front, the selfie camera is powered by an 8MP sensor. The entire setup is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. In terms of connectivity, you get a 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.
