Samsung, earlier this month, introduced a new A-series handset – Samsung Galaxy A42. The Korean tech giant, at the event, also revealed the look of the upcoming mid-range handset. The upcoming handset is expected to be the cheapest 5G device under the Galaxy range to date. Last week a report emerged on the web revealing that the upcoming Galaxy A42 could be the very first device to sport the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G. Now, high-quality renders of the Samsung Galaxy A42 have surfaced on the web confirming the punch-hole display and a quad-rear camera setup once again.
Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Specifications and Features
The upcoming Galaxy A42 5G handset is confirmed to feature a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. Though the company is yet to reveal the resolution of the display panel, we are expecting it to be an FHD+ panel similar to other mid-range Galaxy smartphones. The handset should sport an in-display fingerprint sensor as a fingerprint sensor is nowhere visible in the official renders.
The upcoming A42 5G has already paid a visit to the Geekbench benchmark database. The benchmark scores were similar to that of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 but a recent report suggests that the upcoming A42 5G will be the first device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G. The Snapdragon 750G brings with it an integrated Adreno 619 GPU. Talking about the chipset, it comes with a host of interesting features including Wi-Fi 6-ready Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 Mobile Connectivity Subsystem supports stable, secure connections.
The Geekbench listing has already revealed 4GB RAM on the device, but we can expect the smartphone to be offered in higher memory variants too, when launched. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will be equipped with a quad-rear camera setup inside a squircle camera module. The functionality and resolutions of these four camera sensors are not known, at least for now.
The handset will sport a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support, as revealed via the certification website. Similar to other Samsung Galaxy devices, the upcoming Galaxy A42 5G will boot the company’s proprietary OneUI, based on Android 10. The company will reveal more details of the handset closer to the launch. The device has already cleared BIS certification, so it will likely make its way to India.
