Samsung Galaxy A72 Listed on BIS, Launch Imminent

The smartphone is tipped to arrive with a quad-camera setup.

Samsung is planning to unveil its flagship series called the Galaxy S21 series in January 2021 and all the eyes are on the upcoming flagship series. However, the company is also gearing up to launch a mid-range smartphone during the same window. According to the reports, the South Korean tech giant is planning to launch the Galaxy A72 and the phone has been spotted on the BIS certification website. Here’s a closer look at the BIS Certification of the Galaxy A72 smartphone.

Popular tipster @the_tech_guy was the one who discovered the listing and shared it on his Twitter handle. The smartphone is listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with model number SM-A725F/DS. The model number is associated with the Galaxy A72 and we have already witnessed the same in numerous leaks and rumours. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 720G SoC, it was also expected that the handset will arrive with a 5G variant also powered by Exynos chipset.

This means that the company will offer at least two variants of the Galaxy A72. According to the report, the company is expected to launch the 4G variant first in SEA (South East Asia) region.

The BIS listing didn’t reveal any information related to the specifications of the phone all it clarified is that the Galaxy A72 is going to soon launch in India. Thanks to some leaked renders we get to know some information about the smartphone. The smartphone is tipped to arrive with a quad-camera setup with the combination of a 64-megapixel primary camera sensor accompanied by an 8-megapixel lens + 5-megapixel camera + 5-megapixel sensor along with an LED flash. The previous leaks also suggest that the phone will be launched with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display.

So far we have this much information about the upcoming Galaxy A72 smartphone. However, do note that the company is yet to reveal anything about the smartphone officially, we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt and wait for the official announcement.
