The first foldable smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy Fold, made its debut in February last year. Recently, reports have been popping up regarding the successor of the Galaxy Fold, which is rumored to be called the Galaxy Fold 2. These reports reveal that the model number of the Galaxy Fold 2 is SM-F916 and they also reveal plenty of specifications of the smartphone. Now, we have some more information regarding the Galaxy Fold 2, especially about its battery, as we have spotted the certifications of the batteries of the Galaxy Fold 2 on 3C.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 batteries certified by 3C
The 3C certifications of the Samsung batteries that we have come across today is for two models, EB-BF917ABY and EB-BF916ABY. The model number of these batteries are similar to the model number of the Galaxy Fold 2, which suggests that these batteries belong to the Galaxy Fold 2. So, the Galaxy Fold 2 is indeed coming with two batteries, just like the Galaxy Fold. The EB-BF917ABY has a capacity of 2275mAh and the EB-BF916ABY has a capacity of 2090mAh. So, the total battery capacity of the Galaxy Fold 2 will be 4365mAh, which is similar to the 4380mAh battery capacity of the Galaxy Fold.
While it is disappointing to see that the Galaxy Fold 2 will not offer a battery capacity larger than its predecessor, there is a high possibility that it will offer a decent battery backup as the Galaxy Fold offered a satisfactory battery life with the same battery pack.
