We have already reported how Samsung is gearing up to launch several new smartphones, and at short intervals. This time, we have information that three new Samsung Galaxy phones are in the works, all set to launch soon in various markets. While two of these smartphones belong to the Galaxy J family, the third is from the Galaxy A series.
Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus, Galaxy J6 Plus: Leaked Specifications
The official web portal of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has listed two Samsung Galaxy smartphones with the model numbers SM-J610 and SM-J415. The latter belongs to the Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus while the model number SM-J610 is for the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus. Thanks to this certification appearance, we can safely conclude that the two handsets are set for an official launch soon.
However, it is not clear where exactly the Korean brand plans to release these two phones first. The Netherlands and Vietnam seem to be on top of the list, but the list is either not prepared fully or has not been leaked yet.
What we know from the leaks is that the two smartphones from the Samsung Galaxy J family will ditch Samsung’s Exynos chipsets to go for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors instead. The phones will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo come in single and dual SIM options. Also, the Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus and Galaxy J6 Plus are the same phones that were being rumoured as the Samsung Galaxy J4 Prime and Galaxy J6 Prime.
Samsung Galaxy A Series: New Phone
In another news leak, a new Samsung Galaxy A series smartphone was spotted on the official website of Samsung in Spain. This phone, with the model number SM-A750N, is leaked to support dual SIM capability, and is speculated to be a re-branded Samsung Galaxy A8 or Galaxy A7. With Samsung making it clear that it is working on revamping its mid-range smartphone strategies, it could be interesting to watch what the Korean tech firm can offer in the last quarter of 2018 and the in the next one year.
Samsung Galaxy J4, J6: Specifications
The existing Samsung Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 are budget smartphones by Samsung, with the Samsung Galaxy J6 being the more popular handset of the two, even as the Galaxy J4 is an entry-level model with a modest price tag. Both offer a Super AMOLED display that measures about 5.5 inches, and a single-sensor 13MP rear camera. The selfie shooter on the Galaxy J6 is larger, with 8 megapixels, while the Galaxy J4 gets a 5MP front camera.
Also, the display of the Galaxy J6 has bezels much thinner in comparison, so it achieves an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, whereas the Galaxy J4 follows the older 16:9 design. Also, the Galaxy J4 does not have any fingerprint sensor while the Galaxy J6 has a rear-mounted one.
Both phones booth Android Oreo and are powered by Exynos chipsets, but the Galaxy J4 has a quad-core processor while the Galaxy J6 gets an octa-core SoC. The battery is the same 3000mAh for both phones and neither gets fast charging technology.
The Samsung Galaxy J6 costs Rs 12,990 for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and Rs 14,990 for a 4GB with 64GB of expandable storage. The smaller Galaxy J4 costs Rs 8,990 for 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage, and Rs 10,990 for 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
