Samsung is gearing up to launch an interesting budget Android smartphone. A support page for the alleged Galaxy J6 Prime just went up on the Korean electronics giant’s official Indian website. Interestingly, the Galaxy J6 Prime has been recently spotted on another Samsung’s official website.
Samsung appears to be readying to launch Prime version of the Galaxy J6 models. Just a few days back, support pages for the Galaxy J4 Prime and the Galaxy J6 Prime went live. However, they appeared on the Samsung’s Vietnamese website, strongly indicating the budget Android smartphones would first launch in Vietnam. However, identical support page for the Galaxy J6 Prime went live on the company’s official Indian website. This development hints the smartphone could launch simultaneously in both the regions.
Samsung Galaxy Prime: Expected Launch In India
Similar to the Samsung’s Vietnamese website, the new smartphone with the model number SM-J610F/DS had its support page go up on Samsung India site. Incidentally, this is just a preliminary mention of a model number that is classified as a “Smart Phone”. Hence, there is no detailed information about the handset. The support page should serve as a reference and solutions repository for common problems. In other words, future buyers of the Samsung Galaxy J6 Prime could visit the page to see if their issues are common and if there’s a simple solution that doesn’t warrant a visit to the service center. The support page also serves as a platform to explore ways of controlling the various features of the Samsung smartphones.
Interestingly, a detailed report on a Dutch blog claimed to reveal a few key specifications and details about the Prime editions of the Samsung Galaxy J6. The report claimed the Galaxy j6 Prime would first launch in Vietnam and Netherlands before heading to other international markets. Samsung released standard edition of the Galaxy J6 earlier this year, and as a routine revision, could be launching better-performing Prime versions of the smartphones.
Very little is known about the Galaxy J6 Prime, except for the fact the device will have incremental upgrades over the Galaxy J6. However, we at MSP Gear will certainly update our readers about any new information about the budget smartphone. Still, based on the non-Prime version of the Galaxy J6, we can certainly make a few speculations with a fair degree of certainty.
Samsung Galaxy J6 Prime To Have Snapdragon, Not Exynos:
According to reports and rumors surrounding the impending release of the Galaxy J6 Prime, the smartphone is expected to have several changes from its predecessor. The Galaxy J6 Prime model is believed to have Qualcomm’s range of Snapdragon Processors. Presently, several of Samsung’s non-Prime models have the quad-core Samsung Exynos chipsets. Samsung is reportedly mulling the idea of placing Snapdragon chip in the Prime version of the budget smartphones.
Additionally, the new Prime version of the smartphone should run on Android 8.1 Oreo. Needless to mention, this will also be an upgrade over the current Android 8.0 OS the non-prime running on Galaxy J6 run.
Given the rapid pace of development, Samsung should make a few other upgrades to key specifications on the Prime version of the devices. However, owing to the diversification currently observed in smartphones, Samsung could keep the other details similar to the non-Prime versions of the handsets to maintain the classification and identification.
Samsung Galaxy J6: Rumored Specifications, Features
The Samsung Galaxy J6 Prime should have similar specifications and features to the Galaxy J6, with a few upgrades compared. The J6, much like the Galaxy J4, runs on a Quad-core Samsung Exynos 7870 SoC. Samsung could swap the Exynos for Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset in the Prime model. Incidentally, the Galaxy J6 smartphone is available in two variants: 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. Also, Samsung offers the option of expandable storage on both the editions. The Galaxy J6 Prime may feature 4GB RAM on both the editions with a boost in internal storage.
The Galaxy J6 consists of a 5.6-inch HD+ AMOLED panel with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9 which boasts of the Infinity Display design. The Galaxy J6 sports a single 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Being a budget Android smartphone, even the Prime version of the Galaxy J6 should retain the single-camera setup on the front and the back. However, it should have several AI-powered features including Portrait Mode, Scene Detection, and perhaps even Samsung Mall.
