It was revealed earlier that Samsung would be releasing an entry-level smartphone called the Galaxy M01. The phone happened to arrive on the Wi-Fi Alliance database a few weeks earlier and now the device has been spotted on the Google Play Console list, which has revealed a few specifications of the device. For the uninitiated, the Google Play List is populated with phones which can avail Google Play services.
Samsung Galaxy M01 Specifications According to Google Play Console
As per the listing, the phone will be running on Android 10.0 with the OneUI 2.0 skin over it. An Infinity V display will be present on the phone’s front and the screen will have an HD+ resolution and possibly be 6.4-inches in size. Colour variants for the phone will include black, blue, and red.
Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 439 chipset supported by a configuration of up to 3GB RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. As per previous reports, the phone will be sold only in countries with a high demand for budget phones such as India, Nepal. Russia, and Sri Lanka. The phone will feature a dual-camera setup on the back but currently, the resolution of the sensors are unknown.
The device has also made an appearance on US certification website FCC where it’s been revealed that the Galaxy M01 is actually a rebranded Galaxy A01. The only difference is that the Galaxy M01 happens to have a larger 4,000mAh battery as compared to the 3,000mAh battery on Galaxy A01. It is clear after seeing the Galaxy A01 on the US FCC website that Samsung will likely be launching it only in the US and European markets while the Asian markets will get the Galaxy M01. However, we will need to wait for an official launch announcement for both the devices to know for sure. Stay tuned as we will update this story when more information is available.
