Samsung recently launched the Samsung Galaxy A51 and the Samsung Galaxy A71 smartphones and marked the beginning of its Galaxy A 2020 series of smartphones. That series, however, is not the only series the company is working on. As it turns out, Samsung is already working on its upcoming Samsung Galaxy M series of smartphones for the next year and the first devices under the lineup are reportedly going to be the Samsung Galaxy M11 and the Samsung Galaxy M31.
Samsung Galaxy M11 and Galaxy M31 reported to be in the works
Reported exclusively by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy M11 (SM-M115F) and the Samsung Galaxy M31 (SM-M315F) are undergoing development and the Ax1 naming convention that the company has started using for its Galaxy A 2020 series of smartphones appears to be used with the Galaxy M 2020 series as well.
As per the source, the details surrounding both the devices are pretty scarce as of now as they are in their early stages of development, but it is confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy M11 will feature 32GB of internal memory, while the Samsung Galaxy M31 will feature double the memory – 64GB to be precise. Other than that, the rest of the specifications of both the devices are still a mystery. That said, we can expect them to be more powerful than their predecessors, at the very least.
The source further mentions that though only two devices in the Samsung Galaxy M 2020 series of smartphones have got confirmed, it is more than likely that the Samsung Galaxy M21 and the Samsung Galaxy M41 could also launch in the future.
As far as the launch date is confirmed, since the company launched the Samsung Galaxy M10 and the Samsung Galaxy M20 in January 2019, the same launch date schedule could be expected for the likes of the Samsung Galaxy M11 and the Samsung Galaxy M31 as well.
As of now, this is all we know about the devices, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 devices have started receiving the official One UI 2.0 update cooked on top of Android 10 in India. In case you want to know more about that, you can head to our existing coverage of the same.
The Samsung Galaxy M series of smartphones is the company’s answer to the Chinese manufacturers that have taken a big lead in countries like India when it comes to providing good specifications in the budget/mid-range price segments and it only made sense for the company to continue the lineup further.
