Samsung India has announced it on Twitter that the brand will launch the Galaxy M30s smartphone in India on 18th September at 12 noon. Simultaneously, Amazon India has created a dedicated webpage for the Galaxy M30s, revealing a few key specifications of the device. Moreover, a popular YouTube channel, Technical Guruji, has posted a hands-on video of the Galaxy M30s, giving us a pretty good idea what the device will have to offer. Let us check it out.

Samsung Galaxy M30s Official Specifications
The one feature that Samsung is boasting about the Galaxy M30s is its battery capacity. According to the tweet from the brand, the device will pack a massive, 6000mAh battery pack. I don’t recall any other smartphone in the mid-range price bracket to offer a battery pack as such. And I think the large battery capacity will be a huge selling point for the smartphone as battery life is of utmost importance to most Indian consumers
The dedicated webpage of the device on Amazon reveals that the Galaxy M30s will have a Super AMOLED display. The brand, however, hasn’t revealed the display resolution. You can expect it to be a Full HD+ unit. As the device images show, the display will have a U-shaped notch at the top. What you can also see in the images is that the Galaxy M30s has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, meaning that there won’t be an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Coming to the imaging, the dedicated webpage reveals that the Galaxy M30s will have a triple rear camera. And the teaser suggests that the primary camera in it will be a 48MP sensor. You can expect the other two cameras to be ultrawide and depth-sensor units. What’s interesting here is that there seems to be an extra sensor beside three cameras – it could most probably be a laser autofocus module. If so, the Galaxy M30s will be among the few to offer one.
Lastly, Samsung reveals it on Amazon that the Galaxy M30s will feature an all-new Exynos chipset. Reports suggest that it could be Exynos 9611, which could be an overclocked version of Exynos 9610 that we’ve seen in many Samsung devices so far. That being said, I’m not sure that this new Exynos chipset will perform as good as the Snapdragon 675, or even the Snapdragon 660. And I say this because every Samsung chipset in mid-range devices has always offered poor performance levels.
Samsung Galaxy M30s Hands-on Video Is Out
Technical Guruji, a popular YouTube channel in India, has posted a hands-on video of the Galaxy M30s. Apart from what I’ve mentioned above, Technical Guruji reveals that the Galaxy M30s will have a USB Type-C port, a triple-slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. According to him, the Galaxy M30s doesn’t feel too bulky in hand, in spite of it having a large battery pack. He also adds that the Galaxy M30s neither shows any sign of UI lag nor did it slow down during his usage period. That’s all he could reveal, as other details are still under embargo.
What About the Price of The Samsung Galaxy M30s?
Going by the naming convention, it is pretty evident that the Galaxy M30s will be placed between the Galaxy M30 and the Galaxy M40. Currently, the Galaxy M30 costs INR 13,990, and the Galaxy M40 costs INR 19,990. So, you can expect the M30s to cost somewhere between both – in the INR 16,000 ballpark maybe.
