The rumors surrounding the existence of a more affordable Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite smartphone have been popping up on the internet over the past so many months. Finally, it looks like the device is taking an official shape as the Galaxy S10 Lite has hit the FCC certification which has confirmed the S10 Lite moniker. Furthermore, most of the specifications of the device have also got leaked.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite gets the FCC certification, specifications leaked
The device which has received the FCC certification has the model number SM-G770F which falls in line with the previous leaks. The FCC documentation reveals a lot about the device including the connectivity details – LTE Cat. 14 download speeds, 3xCA maximum, and no 4×4 MIMO. To add to it, the IMEI number the device comes with resonates with another Samsung device which, as per Ting’s IMEI database, is dubbed the Samsung R5. Just in case you are not aware, the Samsung R5 is the alleged Samsung Galaxy A91, which, as per rumors, will launch as the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite. All the strings, thus, are tied together.
As far as the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite go, the device is tipped to feature a 6.69-inch display (considering the fact that the display diagonal size is mentioned as 170mm). The overall measurements of the device are 172 x 160 x 75 mm.
Moving on to the battery of the device, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is tipped to feature a 4,500mAh battery. One of the pages in the FCC documentation mentions the charger for the device to be EA-TA845 which is the same 45W fast charger that comes with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus device.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite could be powered with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset which could be coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The FCC documentation hints that there will be scope for expansion with the help of an external SD card.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is rumored to feature a triple camera setup at the back (48MP+12MP+5MP). At the front, we might be getting a 32MP selfie snapper.
Now, the biggest question as of now is that how is the Samsung Galaxy Lite going to be, well, Lite? The alleged display size is the same as the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, so the Lite here is most likely not representing a smaller screen estate. Furthermore, the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and 8GB of RAM also does not make the device a toned-down variant of the original device either. What specifications and features does the company actually deprive the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite of is only a guessing game as of now. As far as the launch date is concerned, the source tells us that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite could very well launch as soon as December 2019.
As of now, this is all we know about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days as the launch date approaches.
