Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite

Samsung is readying the launch of a new flagship-grade handset in India in the next few days. The new handset – the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite – as evident from its name, is a budget version of the Galaxy S10 series. While positioned below the standard Galaxy S10 and the S10+ models, the S10 Lite seems to be a great option for folks on the lookout for a flagship-grade device from Samsung but do not have the moolah to splurge on the pricer versions. The S10 Lite also seems to be an attempt to wean off users who opt for devices like the OnePlus 7T and the ASUS 6Z which offer flagship-grade specs at a more affordable price tag. Apart from the Galaxy S10 Lite, the company also recently showcased the Galaxy Note 10 Lite on the sidelines of CES 2020. Nevertheless, here’s a quick look at the specifications of the handset in question.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite makes its flagship-grade intentions clear with its hardware. For us Indians, the S10 Lite is the only way you can officially buy a Samsung flagship with a Qualcomm chip inside. Indian versions of all Samsung flagship handsets use the company’s own Exynos chipsets which as you might be already aware often fail to match the performance of their Qualcomm counterparts. The S10 Lite comes powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and offers up to 8GB of RAM. Internationally, the handset also comes in a 6GB variant which we are not sure would make it to India. Both these versions offer 128GB of internal storage and dual SIM capability.

The display on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite measures 6.7-inches across and boasts of a resolution of 2400 x1080 pixels. The phone also inherits the Infinity-O notch from its siblings where the 32-megapixel front-facing camera is located. The display also houses a fingerprint scanner. The camera setup at the rear consists of a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 lens, a secondary 12-megapixel, f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera.

The phone also gets a 4,500 mAh battery with support for Samsung’s refreshed adaptive fast charging. The phone comes in three color options; Prism White, Prism Black, and Prism Blue. Pricing and other details should be out soon now that the Flipkart listing for the phone is live.
