A few weeks back, it was reported that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ flagship smartphones would feature a cut-out in the display to house the selfie camera. This has now been confirmed, thanks to the first CAD renders of the upcoming Galaxy S10 Plus from 91Mobiles and @OnLeaks. Both the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus flagship smartphones are expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. Samsung is also rumored to launch a 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 later in Spring.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus CAD Renders Reveal Dual Selfie Cameras, Triple Rear Cameras
As you can see in the renders below, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus will feature not one but two front-facing cameras. Thanks to the two cameras, the display cut-out is not O-shaped as some previous rumors had suggested. However, the standard Galaxy S10 will likely feature an Infinity-O display similar to the one on the upcoming Galaxy A8s. In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy S10 Plus will reportedly measure 157.5 x 75.0 x 7.8mm with a dual-curved Super AMOLED display measuring 6.4-inches diagonally. For reference, the Galaxy S9 Plus with a 6.2-inch display measures 158.1 x 73.8 x 8.5mm. Quite clearly, the Galaxy S10 Plus will be a significant improvement over its predecessor in terms of screen-to-body ratio.
On the back, we can clearly see the smartphone has a triple-camera setup with the three sensors stacked horizontally. Similar to the Galaxy A7 (2018), the Galaxy S10 will have a standard lens paired with a bright lens, a telephoto lens, and a wide-angle lens. As you can see in the renders above, the Galaxy S10 Plus does not include a fingerprint sensor at the rear. Instead, the smartphone will feature an ultrasonic In-display fingerprint sensor, which is not only more secure but also faster when compared to optical In-display fingerprint sensors. In addition to an In-display fingerprint sensor, Galaxy S10 Plus will reportedly come with a new facial recognition solution as well. At the bottom, Galaxy S10 Plus will include a USB Type-C port, loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The SIM card tray is positioned at the top, while the power button is placed on the right side. On the left side of the handset, we find the volume rocker buttons and a dedicated button for Bixby. The 5K renders of the smartphone show the handset in only one color: Ice Blue. However, if rumors are to be believed, Samsung will be offering at least a few more gradient color options at launch.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Rumored Specs
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is expected to come with a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ resolution Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, Galaxy S10 Plus will be powered by a 7nm Exynos 9820 processor in most markets. Some variants of the smartphone, however, could be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8150 chipset instead. In the memory department, the Galaxy S10 Plus is expected to feature 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The 5G version of the Galaxy S10, on the other hand, is rumored to pack 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. On the software front, we expect all Galaxy S10 models to ship with Android 9.0 Pie-based One UI out of the box.
