Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G earlier this year in India. The premium 5G smartphone was launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 47,999. Months after its official launch in India, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is available for a massive discount. During the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival, the Galaxy S20 FE price in India has dropped down to Rs 36,990. The price can be brought down further by another Rs 2,750, which includes the bank discount offer. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G price in India, specs and other details.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G price in India
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes in a single 8GB + 128GB configuration and is available for Rs 36,990 in India. With a 10 percent discount on ICICI Bank Credit Card and a Rs 1,500 bonus discount, the price drops down to Rs 34,240. Users can alternatively exchange their older smartphone and get a discount of up to Rs 15,000.
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The display has thin bezels around it and a hole-punch cutout at the top for the front camera. It also comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate support and HDR10+ certification.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 8GB of RAM. The phone packs a 4,500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. It comes with an IP68 water resistance rating and supports wireless charging as well.
The phone has a triple-camera setup on the back with a 12MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, there is a 32MP front camera. It runs Android 10-based OneUI out of the box. Samsung has released the Android 11 update for the S20 FE 5G.
Should you buy it?
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G was originally launched in 2020 in international markets, followed by an India launch in March 2021. Even with a price tag of Rs 36,990 during the festive season, the smartphone does not seem to offer excellent value for money. We say so cause the Indian smartphone market’s premium segment currently offers a plethora of options. This includes the likes of the Realme GT 5G, iQOO 7 Legend, Mi 11X Pro, OnePlus 9R, etc. While these smartphones are available more or less around the same price tag, they feature the latest generation of hardware under the hood.
The Galaxy S20 FE’s Snapdragon 865 SoC might fall short by a small margin when it comes to raw performance. That being said, the SoC is no slouch and can offer good performance for the next 2-3 years at least. It is also a no-brainer for those who want a premium, flagship-grade Samsung smartphone experience without paying a flagship price.
