Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has seen an extensive leak surface online, revealing most of its specifications. Alongside specifications, most renders of the smartphone have also been revealed, and show the overall design of the smartphone to be in line with Samsung’s premium smartphone design language. While the Galaxy S20 series of flagship phones primarily come with curved displays, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is said to come with a flat display design, which is one of the ways in which the upcoming Galaxy S20 version will be different from the rest of the ‘premium’ models in the lineup.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE rumoured specifications
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is reportedly going to be launched in two variants, one with 4G and the other with 5G. While the 4G variant will follow Samsung’s usual distribution of using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 in USA and Samsung’s own Exynos 990 SoC elsewhere, the 5G variant will uniformly feature the Snapdragon chipset in all markets where Samsung decides to sell the 5G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE. This will seemingly be paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The display on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is said to be a 6.5-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED panel, and will not come with the dual curved edge design that the rest of the lineup in Samsung’s premium Galaxy S20 series come with. However, the leak states that the Galaxy S20 FE will come with 120Hz fast refresh rate, and not restrict the refresh rate to just 60Hz. However, Samsung has apparently cut corners in the durability of the device by equipping it with only Corning Gorilla Glass 3, instead of the more recent versions of the scratch resistant toughened glass coating.
Other rumoured specifications of the Galaxy S20 FE seemingly include a triple rear camera setup with 12MP wide + 12MP ultra wide + 8MP telephoto units, the latter with 3x optical zoom range. At the front, the punch hole display will feature a 32MP selfie camera. The setup will reportedly be powered by a 4,500mAh battery, and the device will come with AKG-tuned stereo speakers as well. Connectivity features will seemingly include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a USB-C port.
According to the leak report, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will weigh 190g and measure 8.4mm in thickness. It will also come in wide colour variants, including white, blue, orange, lavender, green and red. While pricing has not been revealed in the report, the Galaxy S20 FE should cost lesser than the entry level flagship phone by Samsung at the moment – the Samsung Galaxy S20.
