Samsung recently got done with the Unpacked 2021 event for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 and other devices. The company is now expected to launch a budget 5G flagship smartphone in the coming weeks. Rumours are rife that the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) will launch sometime in September or October 2021. The device was accidentally leaked by Samsung via one of its social media posts. There is no word on the official launch date of the device at the moment. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G has visited the Geekbench website. This particular variant has the model number SM-G990E. Samsung could launch the Galaxy S21 FE very soon. The company is yet to announce the official launch date of its affordable flagship phone. Meanwhile, the device has visited Geekbench with the model number SM-G990E. The variant listed on Geekbench has an Exynos 2100 SoC. The same processor is found on the premium Galaxy S21 series launched in India.
That being said, another variant of the Galaxy S21 FE with the model number SM-G990B was spotted on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 888 SoC. Samsung is rumoured to launch the Galaxy S21 FE with a Snapdragon 888 SoC in the US and Europe. Other markets could get the Exynos 2100-powered phone.
The device is paired with 8GB of RAM. It runs Android 11 out of the box. We can expect a layer of OneUI 3.0 on top of the Android mobile operating system. The octa-core processor has a peak clock speed of 2.91GHz. it scores 1084 and 3316 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests.
Other details of the phone have leaked in the past. Samsung’s upcoming FE phone will sport a flat 6.4-inch 120Hz display. The AMOLED display will have a hole-punch cutout on the top-centre area. It will draw power from a Snapdragon 888 chipset and feature 8GB of RAM. The phone’s triple-camera module will feature a 32MP + 12MP + 8MP sensor setup.
For selfies, there will be a 12MP front camera. It will have a 4,370 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The phone will run Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 out of the box. It is rumoured to launch in South Korea between 700,000 to 800,000 won (Rs 45,846 – Rs 52,395).
