The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is now expected to be launched in January 2022, as part of the company’s portfolio in CES 2022. Contradicting previous rumours that the device may have been cancelled owing to the recurrent chipset supply crisis, the latest source report from SamMobile says that the device is now set to launch at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Further reports corroborating the upcoming launch have claimed that the ‘affordable’ version of Samsung’s flagship smartphone series may go on sale within weeks of being announced in early January – which coincides with the dates of the event.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE: expected specifications

In terms of the overall specifications, most reports have detailed a fair amount of specifications that the Galaxy S21 FE is expected to flaunt. The smartphone is tipped to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, therefore lending it flagship performance credentials. By its launch time, Qualcomm is tipped to release its next generation flagship chipset that may be called Snapdragon 895 or 898, which may therefore make the 888 Plus a generation old processor. Nevertheless, rumours suggest that the S21 FE may come with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, hence wrapping up near flagship grade specifications.

In terms of other features, the smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.4-inch display with an AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate – a feature that has been increasingly democratised in cheaper smartphones as well. Other features include a centrally aligned drill hole slot for the front camera, and slim bezels around the display. The phone is also tipped to launch in six total colour variants – red, orange, white, lavender, mint and navy. It is also tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup headed by a 64MP main sensor, along with an ultra-wide unit and a depth sensor as well. A 4,500mAh battery with some degree of fast charging support is also expected to be in tow.

It is also expected to feature all the usual connectivity features including 5G and dual-band Wi-Fi. More details should be on their way soon, given that the launch is being tipped for the coming months.
