Samsung is tipped to launch the next-generation Galaxy S22 series smartphone at the start of next year, but the rumours have already started surfacing on the internet hinting toward the potential features. The Galaxy S22 series is expected to arrive with some improvements over its predecessors in the recent report. The smartphone was expected to feature an under-display camera sensor for selfies and video calls.

However, in the latest development, it has been reported that the South Korean tech giant might skip this though and launch the Galaxy S22 without the under-display camera. Let’s have a closer look at the latest leak.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Might Skip Under Display Camera

According to a Korean website Naver, inside sources have told them that the company is facing quality and yield issues, forcing Samsung to ditch the tech on the upcoming Galaxy S22 smartphones. Further, the report suggested that a mosaic pattern of the OLED panel was also appearing in a certain situation which is holding the company back from using this technology. The same issue was also witnessed on the ZTE Axon 20 5G smartphone.

Further, the report suggested that the company has decided to use the under-display camera tech on its upcoming Note model and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Both the smartphones are expected to be launched later this year. Do note that Samsung is yet to reveal anything officially and all this is based on rumours and leaks. It recommended taking this piece of information with a pinch of salt.

Going with the previous leaks, it was suggested that the Galaxy S22 is also going to miss the sensor. The sensor is used for depth mapping for bokeh, autofocus, augmented reality, and a lot more. After facing criticism for the Galaxy S20’s subpar autofocus performance the company decided to replace the 3D ToF with a laser AF system in the Galaxy Note 20. We can expect some more information about the smartphone in the upcoming days.
