Samsung is expected to launch its next premium flagship series in January or February 2022. The South Korean giant recently launched the Galaxy Z series of foldable smartphones. Its next flagship will be from the Galaxy S lineup, which is likely to be called the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung is expected to launch three new devices, which will launch as a successor to the S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra. We are still a few months away from the official launch of the next Galaxy flagship. However, some new details of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have been tipped online.
According to a new report from Galaxy Club, Samsung will launch the S22 series is multiple colour options. It claims that the standard S22 and the S22 Plus model will launch in at least four colour options. As the report, these colours would be in the shades of White, Black, Rose Gold and Green. The report also claims that the S22 Ultra, which will be the company’s top-of-the-line phone under the S-series, will launch in three colours – White, Black and Dark Red.
It further states that the Green colour option on the S22 and S22+ will be more or less similar to the Phantom Green colour of the Z Fold 3.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series: specs and features tipped so far
Some more details of the devices have been tipped previously. According to a recent leak, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with support for up to 45W fast charging. There is no word on whether the other two models will also come equipped with 45W charging support.
The screen size of the devices is also said to get some changes. The standard S22 will have a screen size of 6.1-inch, whereas the Plus and Ultra S22 models are likely to sport 6.5-inch and 6.8-inch displays. In terms of optics, the standard and Plus models are tipped to get a triple-camera setup. Samsung is likely to use its 50MP GN5 sensor here alongside a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
The Ultra model could feature Samsung’s top-end 50MP sensor or 108MP camera sensors. Reports on the web previously have also claimed that Samsung might use its ISOCELL HP1 200MP camera sensor on the S22 Ultra. The phones are likely to feature a Snapdragon 898 SoC or an Exynos 2200 SoC, depending on the region of sale.
We are still months away from the official launch. It is therefore advised to take the leaked information with a pinch of salt.
