Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series worldwide on February 9. At the Unpacked event, the company launched three new flagship smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The three devices were launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Exynos 2200 SoC variants. Depending on the region, consumers could purchase either a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or the one with an Exynos chipset.

Over the years, Samsung has launched its flagship phones in India with an Exynos chip. However, things will change with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S22 series India variant will come with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon mobile platform. The company confirmed the details via a tweet.

Both chipsets are based on a 4nm process. However, it has been proven over the years that Snapdragon 8 series chips have been more powerful and efficient compared to Exynos. Samsung did narrow down the gap last year with the Exynos 2100 SoC. However, Snapdragon 888 proved to be more powerful and efficient than the Exynos flagship chip of 2021.

Our tests showed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC does get warm and throttled the Moto Edge X30’s performance. Whether or not the S22 models heat up will only be confirmed once we have the devices launched here in India. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S22 series specifications, features, and other details.
