Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Tipped to Come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in India

Samsung Galaxy S22 series will debut worldwide on February 9. The company will launch three new flagship devices, which include the vanilla Galaxy S22, S22+, and the S22 Ultra. Samsung is expected to launch its flagship smartphones in India following the global unveiling. A recent leak claimed that the devices will debut in India in March 2022. While we wait for the official launch date confirmation, a new leak from tipster Ishan Agarwal and PriceBaba has surfaced online.

Samsung might surprise consumers by launching the S22 series in India with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. For years, the company has launched the India variant flagship models with an Exynos chip. However, the S22 series could be the first set of flagship smartphones from Samsung after years to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset in India.

Both Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoCs are based on a 4nm fabrication and feature a 1+3+4 architecture. However, the Exynos variant, over the years, has lagged in terms of performance and efficiency in comparison with the Snapdragon counterpart. One possible reason to launch the Snapdragon variant could be due to the ongoing component shortages, which might have affected Exynos 2200’s production.

Samsung has not yet confirmed any details regarding the Snapdragon variant being launched in India. Therefore, it is advised to wait for a couple of days before the devices are unveiled officially. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S22 series specifications, features and other details.
