- Samsung is bringing a new Fan Edition smartphone after a gap of over a year.
- The Galaxy S23 FE will be powered by Exynos 2200 processor and AMD-powered Xclipse 920 GPU.
- The Galaxy S23 FE will have a 50-megapixel rear camera setup.
Samsung is widely reported to be working on a new Galaxy Fan Edition (FE) smartphone. This has come after initial rumours suggested there will not be a new FE variant of the Galaxy S flagship this year. It is because the company did not launch Galaxy S22 FE either and its last launch in the series was the Galaxy S21 FE in 2022. After over a year, we are now expecting to see the Galaxy S23 FE in the coming months.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Launch Timeline Details
Samsung is now reported to launch the Galaxy S23 FE in Q3 2023. This is a quarter earlier than the previously claimed release timeline. The fresh report from SamMobile claims the company will begin by releasing the much-talked-about smartphone in select markets. Unfortunately, it does not specify the names of those markets.
The Galaxy S23 FE is said to get a global release in the subsequent quarter i.e. Q4 2023. The wider release is reported to continue in Q1 2024. Since the report does not name these markets, it is hard to say in what quarter we can expect to see the smartphone in the Indian market.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Specifications (Rumored)
The biggest highlight of the leaked Galaxy S23 FE spec sheet is that it is said to come with the Exynos 2200 processor and AMD-powered Xclipse 920 GPU in all the markets. This is surprising considering Samsung released the whole Galaxy S23 flagship lineup with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It is unknown why the South Korean tech giant has opted for an in-house Exynos chip, specifically the one that failed to impress when it debuted with the Galaxy S22 series.
The Galaxy S23 FE is further expected to arrive in 128GB and 256GB storage options along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The phone will reportedly receive improvements in the camera department. It will have a rear camera setup headlined by a 50MP camera sensor. This is the same camera sensor that Samsung has used on the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 series excluding the Ultra model.
There is reported to be an unchanged 4,500mAh battery to keep the lights on. It could be supported by 25W fast charging for a quick refuel. This is pretty much what we know about the Galaxy S23 FE so far but considering the conflicting nature of reports about the phone in recent times, we would suggest you take everything with a pinch of salt until there is an official announcement.
