As per some previous rumours, the Galaxy Unpacked launch for the S23 series was delayed. It was reportedly scheduled to launch in late February. However, the latest development has revealed the Samsung Galaxy S23 series launch date ahead of the official announcement.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 for the S23 series will be held on February 1. The launch date was revealed via the Samsung Columbia website ahead of the official confirmation. The poster not only reveals the launch date but also has graphics of the lilac flower at the top left corner. There are rumours of the S23 lineup getting the new colour and the leaked teaser invite might have confirmed the same.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Launch Date
The first major Galaxy Unpacked event for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be held on February 1, 2023, according to the leaked teaser. It is in line with some of the previous rumours. The images also confirm the new camera ring cutout design for the S23 series.
The company is yet to send out official media invites but we can expect the same to be released soon to confirm the launch date. The South Korean giant’s flagship Android smartphones for 2023 will include three phones. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will sit at the top of the lineup with its ultra-premium hardware.
Details about the phones have leaked in the past. A recent leak revealed the official high-resolution design renders of the phones, which revealed the four colour options. The Galaxy S23 lineup will share the following four colours: Phantom Black, Cotton Flower, Misty Lilac and Botanic Green.
Other than the colours, the phones are also said to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The selfie camera will also be common across the board. The Galaxy S23 series will come with a 12MP sensor. All three phones will boot Android 13 out of the box and have a layer of One UI 5.0 on top.
Moving on to the specs of each device, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will sport a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. It will have a QHD+ resolution and support a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be the only phone in the lineup to sport a curved panel. The screen will have a hole-punch cutout at the top for the front camera.
It is also rumoured that the display on the S23 Ultra will be brighter than the iPhone 14 Pro series at 2200 nits. The phone will also get a new 200MP main camera. Its quad-camera setup will be completed by a 12MP ultrawide camera and two 10MP telephoto shooters with 3x and 10x optical zoom, respectively. The device will pack a 5000mAh battery and offer support for 15W wireless charging and 25W fast charging at least. There won’t be a charger in the box, in case you were wondering.
The Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 will share the camera setup. They will have a triple-camera setup on the back. The phones are said to feature a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The S23 5G will have a 6.1-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution. The AMOLED display will support a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen will remain flat and sport a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The device is also said to pack a 3900mAh battery and support 25W wired fast charging along with 15W wireless charging.
The Galaxy S23 Plus 5G will have the same display features but sport a bigger 6.6-inch panel. The bigger form factor also makes room for more battery. It is rumoured that the S23 Plus will pack a 4700mAh battery. Like the other two models, it will also support 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
The devices should arrive soon in India. It would not be a surprise if the company makes the phones available in India in February itself. We will wait for the official confirmation on the same.
