Samsung has launched the Galaxy S23 series at the Unpacked event. The company’s latest flagship smartphone lineup includes three premium smartphones. These are the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung has made some design improvements in the S23 and S23 Plus. The two Samsung smartphones have three circular cutouts on the back and no longer feature a camera module that blends into the frame. The devices also get the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S23 series specifications, features and other details known so far.

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus Price and Specifications 

The Samsung Galaxy S23 has been launched with 8GB of RAM. The phone will be offered in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options in various markets. It has a starting price of $799 (roughly Rs 65,400). 

The Galaxy S23 Plus, on the other hand, has been priced at $999 (roughly Rs 81,800) for the base 8GB + 256GB storage option. The device is also available in a 8GB + 512GB storage option. 

Both devices have been launched in Cream, Lavender, Green and Phantom Black colour options.

The S23 and S23 Plus has a slightly frame frame design made of metal. The devices have a glass back. The display on both phones is flat and now sports thinner bezels than before. Coming to the display size and features, the Galaxy S23 is 6.1-inch tall, whereas the Galaxy S23+ has a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. 

Both models have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top of the display and come with an HD10+ certification. The screen refreshes between 48Hz and 120Hz depending on on-screen content. The displays on both phones offer up to 1750 nits of peak brightness. They feature dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support as well.

Under the hood, there is a custom version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 3.36GHz. The Galaxy S23 5G has a 3900mAh battery with 25W fast charging support and 10W wireless charging support. The Galaxy S23 Plus has a bigger 4700mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging along with 10W wireless charging.

Both phones feature a triple-camera setup on the back. There is a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). The devices also feature a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120 degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. There is also a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and support for OIS.

Both phones feature a 12MP front camera. The Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner along with support for Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and Wi-Fi 6E.

The Galaxy S23 is 168 grams heavy and measures 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6mm. The S23 Plus, on the other hand, weighs 196 grams and measures 157.8 x 76.2 x 7.6mm. Both phones have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Lastly, the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus boot Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box.
