  1. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a quad-camera setup.
  2. It will have a 200MP primary camera sensor.
  3. The device will also offer up to 10x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series is set to be unveiled at the Unpacked event early next month. The company has confirmed that it will launch its new Galaxy S series phones on February 1. At the event, we expect Samsung to unveil three premium phones — Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will sit at the top of the lineup.

A lot about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series has leaked online in the past. Adding to the list is a new leak by tipster Ice Universe, who has shared the sensor details of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The leaked details confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will get new primary and ultra-wide camera sensors on the back. There will be a Samsung HP2 200MP primary camera sensor, which will be an upgrade over the outgoing 108MP Samsung HM3 sensor. The flagship smartphone will also get an upgraded 12MP Sony IMX564 ultra-wide camera sensor. In comparison, the Galaxy S22 Ultra came with a 12MP Sony IMX563 ultra-wide sensor.

The telephoto camera sensors are unlikely to get an upgrade this time, according to the leaked details. Samsung is said to pack a Sony IMX754 sensor for the 3x and 10x optical zoom sensors in the S23 Ultra, which is the S22 Ultra. The phone’s front camera will feature a 12MP sensor instead of the outgoing model’s 40MP sensor.

Samsung has been promoting the key camera features of the S23 Ultra, especially the zoom and lowlight photography performance. What would matter is how the premium hardware performs in the real world.
