Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Model Number, Codename Leaked Ahead of Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4 Launch

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will launch at Unpacked August 2022. The company will launch its new foldable phones on August 10. The rumour mill has churned out most details of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Even before the two new flagship foldable phones from Samsung launch, the rumour mill has already started leaking details about the next Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung will launch the Galaxy S23 series, namely the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Months before the official debut, a new PriceBaba report, citing tipster Paras Guglani, has revealed the model number and codename of the top-end Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be the top-end offering in the S23 lineup. The Galaxy S23 series is expected to launch in Q1 of 2022. We are almost six months away from the tentative launch timeline of the Galaxy Unpacked for Galaxy S23 series. The report by PriceBaba reveals some key details of the S23 Ultra. According to the report, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has the model number SM-S918BDS, SM-S918U, SM-S918U1, and SM-S918W. The model numbers were revealed via the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra firmware.


In addition to the model numbers, the report also revealed that the phone is codenamed DM3. Other details of the Galaxy S23 Ultra were not revealed in the firmware. Some previous reports suggest that the top-end Samsung flagship phone will feature a new 200MP Samsung HP2 sensor, which has not been released yet. It will be accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide camera and two 10MP telephoto camera sensors with 3x and 10x optical zoom support. 

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, 15W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. It is also expected to sport s QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. The screen will use LTPO technology to refresh between 1Hz and 120Hz dynamically. For selfies, the S23 Ultra will feature a 40MP front camera. Lastly, it could run Android 13-based OneUI 5.0 out of the box.
