The Samsung Galaxy S23, Pixel 7, and iPhone 14 can’t be more different. Each phone offers something different for different users, and even though every phone is offered at a similar price point, which phone you want to choose would entirely depend on what you want from a compact flagship. Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Price In India

Comparing it with Pixel 7 will make it seem much pricier as it is available in India for Rs 59,999 currently. iPhone 14 on the other hand is priced at Rs 72,999, which would be almost the same as Samsung Galaxy S22.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Design

With the Galaxy S23, Samsung hasn’t changed much in terms of design. It still comes with a compact form factor and follows the basic design principles of the Galaxy S series. It practically looks the same as Galaxy S22, barring the change in camera array, which has now changed to the camera ring design we first saw in the S22 Ultra.

Pixel 7 also looks distinctively Pixel, with the camera bar we saw in Pixel 6 series. The same is the case with iPhone 14, well, it’s an iPhone. The iPhone 14, although stands out with its rectangular edges.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Display

Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. iPhone 14 also comes with a similar-sized display, a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels. It is the only phone among the three with a 60Hz display. Pixel 7, on the other hand, comes in at a slightly higher display size of 6.3 inches. It is an OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Samsung Galaxy S23 is the winner in the display comparison, as it not only features the highest refresh rate, but also comes with a variable refresh rate.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Performance and UI

Samsung Galaxy S23 is the newest performance benchmark to beat in smartphones. Samsung calls the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Galaxy S23 “The Fastest Snapdragon yet”, owing to the fact that it is an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 essentially.

Apple iPhone 14 comes with an Apple A15 Bionic chipset, which is not any slouch by any means. It is just as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones, if not better in some aspects.

Pixel 7 on the other hand is the weaker phone in terms of performance compared to the other two. Google Tensor G2 isn’t in the same range as the other flagship SoCs.

The UI on these phones is also as different as it gets. Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with the OneUI 5.1 flavour of Android 13, which is one of the best custom skins on Android.

Pixel, on the other hand, comes with Pixel UI, which comes with the bare minimum set of visual changes compared to AOSP. It has its fans, who predominantly prefer to keep it simple.

iPhone 14 on the other hand features Apple’s iOS operating system, which doesn’t need any introduction. There is no specific winner in terms of UI, as it’s user preference.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Cameras

Samsung Galaxy S23 features a triple camera setup of 50MP primary, 10MP 3X telephoto, and 12MP ultra-wide. Google Pixel 7 on the other hand doesn’t get a telephoto sensor, it does away with a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. Apple iPhone 14 also doesn’t come with ultra-wide. It has a combo of 12MP primary and ultra-wide cameras. Samsung Galaxy S23 has the advantage of a telephoto lens over others.

On the selfie front, Samsung Galaxy S23 and iPhone 14 come with a 12MP sensor while Pixel 7 comes with a 10.8MP sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Battery

Samsung Galaxy S23 has a 3,900mAh battery while Pixel 7 comes with a 4355mAh battery. iPhone 14 comes with a 3279mAh battery, but it can’t be directly compared against Android phones according to specs.

What can be compared is the charging speeds. Samsung Galaxy S23 surprisingly has the upper hand compared to the other two phones as it comes with a 25W fast charging, which was what Samsung has had for several generations now. Pixel 7 and iPhone 14 on the other hand support up to 20W fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14: Verdict

There’s no easy winner in this comparison. Between iPhones and Androids, it’s a matter of preference and which ecosystem you have invested in. If you’re a hardcore Apple user, you wouldn’t even look at Android competition.

On the other hand, if you are someone who wants the best performance, great cameras, and the best screen in the segment, the Samsung Galaxy S23 is the obvious choice. But if you prefer Pixel’s UI and don’t want to spend more than Rs 60,000, it will be a great choice for you.
