- AI features and an improved 4K zoom are expected on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
- The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to go official in January 2024.
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to come with a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 primary camera.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could give some serious competition to Google Pixel 8 Pro in the camera department if one goes by the latest information. Previous leaks have hinted at a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 primary sensor, which is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Now, a minute-long video posted by Samsung showcases what the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor is capable of.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to offer a number of AI features and improved zooming capabilities to enhance the photography experience. We look at what Samsung’s new “ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace” video reveals.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: AI Image Stacking, Improved 4K Zoom Teased
The Galaxy S24 Ultra could come with AI-based tracking technology. The ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace can automatically zoom in to track and follow a selected fast-moving subject in real-time while shooting a video. The feature is also said to minimise screen shake to get clear videos.
Then there’s the dual recording feature on the ISOCELL 200MP sensor, which allows for shooting zoomed-in area as well as the full frame simultaneously. This means, two videos of a scene can be shot at once, one in the full frame and another one with a subject zoomed in. Plus, the videos can be shot fully in 4K resolution. Users can use 2X zoom or 4X zoom in any direction to shoot such clips. This is enabled by the Tetra-pixel technology on the chip.
The video also talks about E2E (end-to-end) AI Remosaic, which will reduce processing time and image quality in photos. This has been made possible by changing the way an image is processed from sequentially in ISOCELL to parallel, which means the correction, colour, noise reduction, etc in photos happen at the same time.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Could Launch In January 2024
Do keep in mind that the camera features showcased in the video are that of the ISOCELL 200MP sensor, and Samsung has not confirmed explicitly that these will be integrated into the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, going by previous leaks that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and subsequent ones that the phone will have a 200MP camera sensor; it is safe to assume that the camera features showcased in the video will be present on the Samsung’s forthcoming flagship.
Of course, we will know more when the smartphone is made official. As per reports, Samsung will host its Unpacked event sometime in January 2024 to launch its flagship Galaxy S24 series. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the most premium in the series and it has been suggested that it will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in all markets.
To give a perspective, it is a common practice for the company to launch its Galaxy S smartphones with different processors in different markets globally. Normally, the South Korean and European markets get the Exynos variant, while those in North America get the Snapdragon-powered devices. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could pack the company’s top-of-the-line Exynos 2400 processor.
