Samsung is gearing up to announce its Galaxy S24 series smartphones with the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. Some rumours suggest that the devices could be unveiled in January next year. Even ahead of the official launch, we have come to know plenty about the Galaxy S24 series, thanks to a slew of leaks. A new one reveals the camera specifications of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is said to downgrade to 5x optical zoom from 10x zoom on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
According to tipster RGcloudS (@RGcloudS), who posted camera specifications of Galaxy S24 Ultra on X, said that the smartphone will continue to support 100x digital zoom like its predecessor, despite the downgrade in optical zoom capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Expected Camera Specifications
As per the new information, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could feature a quad rear camera setup with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2SX primary sensor of 1/1.3-inch size. Further, it will also include a 12MP Sony IMX564 ultra-wide secondary sensor with 1/2.55 size, a 10MP Sony IMX754+ telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 48MP telephoto sensor with support for 5x optical zoom.
Further, the smartphone is said to support 5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. In comparison, last year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra supports 10x optical zoom and the smartphone can also shoot up to 100x Space Zoom.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra also packs four cameras at the back with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 primary sensor, which is 1/1.3-inch in size and has an f/1.7 aperture. The quad camera setup also includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom and an f/4.9 aperture.
LTPO OLED M13 Display For Galaxy S24 series
Further, all devices in the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup, including Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are said to feature LTPO OLED displays made of M13 material. This was posted by tipster Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) on X. He also revealed that the smartphone displays will have a peak brightness of 2500 nits. In addition, he also suggested that all display features on the smartphones will be the same except for the resolution on the base model.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Expected Specifications
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra US variant, as well as the global variant, were spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench previously, revealing that the smartphone will pack the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with Adreno 740 GPU. For those unaware, Qualcomm is set to host its annual Snapdragon tech summit in October this year in Hawaii, during which it will unveil its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The smartphone could offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage. In terms of software, it is expected to run Samsung’s OneUI 6, which will be based on Android 14. The front camera sensor could be a 12MP one. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could be backed by a 5000mAh with support for 45W wired charging and wireless charging. Other expected features include a titanium frame design, IP68 water and dust resistance, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
