
After announcing the Fan Edition devices yesterday, Samsung now has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 tracker today. This is the third tracking device announced by Samsung as in the past the South Korean smartphone maker had unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag alongside the Galaxy S21 in 2021, and the Galaxy SmartTag+ in the same year April. Speaking about the specifications, the newly introduced Galaxy SmartTag 2 has an elliptical form factor as well as a larger ring loop. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 comes in White and Black colour options. It is priced at $29.99 (Roughly Rs 2,500). The SmartTag 2 will go on sale in the global market from October 11.

As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 has an improved Compass view feature. This new feature enhances the user experience by providing arrows to show the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user. However, this mode is available on any UWB-supported such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
As far as the other key features go, the SmartTag 2 offers a longer battery life and a power-saving mode. As claimed by Samsung with power saving mode battery, the SmartTag 2 lasts for up to 700 days, which is more than twice as long as previous Galaxy SmartTag models. Also, in the normal mode, the battery life is extended up to 500 days, which is a 50% increase on previous models.
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 also has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, which enables the user to keep track of their item in a challenging environment. This new tracker also retains essential features of the previous SmartTag+ such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities.
Apart from introducing this new tracker, Samsung also has upgraded its SmartThings Find app. The new upgrades lets user to add a shortcut to the SmartThings Find app which allows quick and easy access. Furthermore, the updated app also now features a full-screen map view and an intuitive interface, offering a seamless experience. Last but not least, when you are switching your Galaxy smartphone, the SmartTag2 now automatically re-syncs with your new Galaxy smartphone using your Samsung account.
