Samsung has unveiled a new tablet today – the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite – in Indonesia. It comes as a toned-down version of the Galaxy Tab S6 that was launched in July last year. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, however, doesn't seem to be a toned-down version of the Galaxy Tab S6 but an altogether different device, as its specs are totally different and much inferior to the Galaxy Tab S6. Let us have a look at its features, price, and availability.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Price, Availability
As of now, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is just listed on Samsung's official website for Indonesia. The brand is yet to reveal the price and availability details of the tablet. The official does, however, reveals that the tablet will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage options and Oxford Gray, Angora Blue, and Chiffon Pink color variants.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features a 10.4-inch TFT display with Full HD+ resolution and 5:3 aspect ratio. The display has thin bezels around it, just like what we've seen with the Galaxy Tab S6. The bezels, however, are still much thicker compared to that in the iPad Pro 11. Just like the Galaxy Tab S6, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with an S-Pen for enhanced productivity. In the imaging department, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP camera. Cameras on either side can record Full HD video at 30 frames per second.
Powering the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is the Exynos 9611 SoC. This chipset has 10nm transistors, four Cortex-A73 CPU cores, four Cortex-A53 CPU cores, and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. As I said earlier, the tablet is available in 64GB and 128GB storage options. And both of these storage variants pack 4GB of RAM. The tablet runs on Android 10 operating system with Samsung's One UI 2 customization.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features a 7040mAh battery with 15W fast charging. The tablet has two speakers in stereo configuration and they are tuned by AKG. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack on board, which comes handy if you want to listen to music on your Galaxy Tab S6 Lite through traditional earphones. Connectivity features of the device include dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. There is currently no information if the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will have cellular connectivity or not.
