Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE: What to Expect

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will be an affordable version of the more premium offerings in the series and is expected to launch early next year. The Android tablet’s launch date is unknown. Meanwhile, tipster Roland Quandt revealed that the phone will sport an LCD panel. In comparison, the Tab S8, Tab S8+ and the Tab S8 Ultra sport an AMOLED display. The FE variant will also support a stylus since it will have a Wacom digitiser.

Quandt further revealed that the specifications of the Galaxy Tab S8 FE that surfaced on Geekbench in September are accurate. The listing revealed that the Android tablet will feature MediaTek’s Kompanio 900T, which is based on a 6nm process. The SoC was launched last year with a Mali-G68 GPU. It has a peak clock speed of 2.6GHz.

The listing also revealed that the Android tablet will come with at least 4GB of RAM. It will run Android 13 out of the box. On top of Android, we can expect the tablet to have a layer of One UI 5.0. The device, which has the model number SM-X506B, scored 773 and 2318 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests.

Other details of the Android tablet are unknown at the moment. It should follow the same design language as the more premium Tab S8 series models but with cheaper materials to keep the price low.

The Galaxy Tab S8 FE will be a successor to the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which was launched last year. The Tab S7 FE featured a 12.4-inch IPS LCD with a 1600 x 2560 resolution. It came with a Snapdragon 778G SoC and a 10,900 mAh battery. The tablet also supports 45W fast charging. Lastly, it has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
