Samsung might be working on the launch of a new premium Android tablet. The company is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series later this year. The new Samsung tablets will be a successor to the Galaxy Tab S8 series, which was launched last year. The company has officially not confirmed any details about the launch. However, the latest development suggests that the Galaxy Tab S9 series launch could take place soon.
The upcoming Samsung Android tablet was spotted on the 3C certification website. The listing confirms the battery capacity of the device. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 specifications, features and other details ahead of the launch.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 3C Listing
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series will be an entry-level offering in the upcoming Galaxy Tab series lineup. The tablet was spotted on the 3C certification website by IT Home. It revealed that the Galaxy Tab S9 will have a rated battery capacity of 8160mAh. This means that the typical battery capacity could be between 8400-8500mAh. The tablet packs a battery with the model number EB-BX716ABY.
In comparison, the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8 featured a battery with a rated capacity of 7760mAh and a typical value of 8000mAh.
This means that the Galaxy Tab S9 will get an upgrade at least in the overall battery capacity. It remains to be seen if the tablet’s form factor is changed due to the bigger battery or if Samsung manages to increase the battery capacity while keeping the display size at 11 inches.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to feature three premium tablets. These will be called the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. A recent report claimed that the Galaxy Tab S9 will have the model number SM-X710 for the Wi-Fi model, whereas the 5G variant will bear the model number SM-X716B. The US variant with 5G support will come with the model number SM-X718U.
The Galaxy Tab S9+ will have the model numbers SM-X810, SM-X816B and SM-X818U for the Wi-Fi, 5G (Global) and 5G (US) variants, respectively.
The top-of-the-line Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will have the model numbers SM-X910 (Wi-Fi), SM-X916B (5G Global), and SM-X918U (5G US). At the moment, there is little to nothing known about the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series other than the model number and the battery capacity of the standard Tab S9.
Samsung too has not revealed any details about the tablets. We can expect the new Galaxy Tab S9 series to debut in the second half of 2023, probably alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
