Samsung is rumoured to launch the Galaxy Tab S9 series soon. The company might announce the Galaxy Tab S9 series in the second half of 2023. At the moment, there is no official word on the launch date. The company is expected to launch three devices in the lineup. These include the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus and Tab S9 Ultra. Ahead of the launch date announcement, the Galaxy Tab S9’s S Pen has been spotted on the web. Yes, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series will continue to offer support for the company’s smart stylus.

The S Pen for the Galaxy Tab S9’s Wi-Fi variant has cleared the Bluetooth SIG certification. Let’s take a look at the key Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 specifications, features and other details known so far.


Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Wi-Fi S Pen Clears Bluetooth SIG

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 will be the most affordable premium Android tablet in the lineup. Its S Pen has been listed on the Bluetooth SIG website. The listing reveals that the S Pen for the Wi-Fi-only variant of the Tab S9 has the model number EJ-PX710. We can confirm that the S Pen is associated with the Tab S9 Wi-Fi as the latter has the model number SM-X710.

The Bluetooth SIG listing further reveals that the S Pen of the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S9 supports Bluetooth 5.1. 

The Galaxy Tab S9 was recently spotted on the 3C certification website. It revealed that the Android tablet will pack a slightly bigger battery than its outgoing model. The Galaxy Tab S9’s battery will have a rated capacity of 8160mAh. This means that the tablet might launch with a typical battery capacity could be between 8400-8500mAh.  The Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8, in comparison, featured a rated capacity of 7760mAh and a typical value of 8000mAh.

In related news, design renders of the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, which will be a bigger version of the Tab S9, had leaked online. The design renders suggest that the Tab S9 Plus will come with a dual-camera setup on the back. The camera module design is similar to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 series. It has two circular cutouts and an LED flash. There is a magnetic strip under the LED flash for the S Pen. While there are no concrete details, it might be possible that the vanilla Tab S9 might carry the same design.

On the front, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus has two sensors on the right bezel. It is unknown what the secondary sensor does. In addition to these details, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy tabs are tipped to feature an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
