Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event has officially been announced. The South Korean tech giant has confirmed the launch date of its first major event, where it will unveil the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Samsung’s invite does not explicitly mention the details about the products launching at the event. However, the three circular shapes, along with the word from the rumour mill suggest that it will be the Galaxy S23 series that will debut at the Unpacked 2023 event.

The Galaxy Unpacked 2023 will be hosted on February 1. Samsung claims that its upcoming Galaxy S series will be the epitome of how it defines the “ultimate premium experience” and set new standards.

The image also shows the circles in green. This hints at the launch of the new green colour for the S23 series. Samsung did not confirm any specifications or features. However, thanks to the rumour mill, we pretty much know what will soon be on offer.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series: What We Know So Far

Samsung will launch three premium phones at the Unpacked 2023 event. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will sit at the top of the flagship lineup. The device will be, more or less, the same as the S22 Ultra in terms of design. As per the leaked design renders, the phone will continue to sport a boxy design and have a curved display.

The phone will sport a quad-camera setup on the back. It is rumoured to get a new 200MP primary camera. The camera setup will also include a 12MP ultrawide camera and two 10MP telephoto shooters with 3x and 10x optical zoom, respectively.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. The screen will support a 120Hz refresh rate and have a QHD+ resolution. There will be a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the 12MP front camera. The phone is also likely the only one in the lineup to offer a curved-edge display. It will have the brightest display on any smartphone with a peak brightness of 2200 nits.

Samsung is likely to pack a 5000mAh battery in the Ultra model. This is despite the phone packing an S Pen on the left side. The phone is rumoured to support 25W fast charging, and 15W wireless charging at least.

All three phones in the lineup will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The phones will also run on the latest Android 13-based One UI 5.0 out of the box.

The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus will share the camera setup on the back. They will feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, the phones will feature a 12MP front camera.

The S23 Plus will sport a taller 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The S23 will have the same display features but sport a smaller 6.1-inch screen. The S23 Plus will pack a 4700mAh battery, whereas the vanilla model will come with a 3900mAh cell. Both phones will support 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

The phones will launch in four colours — Phantom Black, Botanic Green, Cotton Flower and Misty Lilac.
