Samsung Galaxy View 2 Leaks with 17.5-inch Display, Hinged Stand Design

To recall, the first Galaxy View tablet was announced in October 2015, and now with the latest leak, Samsung is bringing its successor after a gap of three years. According to the leaked renders of the Galaxy View 2, we can see a design with bezels around the display. As for the kickstand, it does not sport a handle, unlike the Galaxy View kickstand. The hinged kickstand for the Galaxy View 2 features an oval-shaped hole that doubles as a gripper when holding the device.

The report further states that the Galaxy View 2 tablet may have a smaller size than its predecessor. It may feature a 17.5-inch display than an 18.4-inch display on the previous version. The hinged kickstand forms a 30-degree angle when kept upright in an open position. Under the hood, the Galaxy View 2 might come powered by an Exynos 7885 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM.

Concerning its launch timeline, the report does not reveal an exact date, but it does suggest that the launch is imminent. The Galaxy View 2’s availability has been hinted, but there is no info regarding its launch in other markets.

The First-Gen Galaxy View Tablet

Three years ago, the first Galaxy View tablet debuted. Those were different times, and Samsung has made substantial progress in terms of innovation since then. Harking back to the old time, specifically October 2015, the first-gen Galaxy View made an entry with an 18.6-inch TFT LCD full-HD display paired with a built-in 2-way kickstand to support the large-screen device. An octa-core 1.6GHz processor powered it with 2GB of RAM.

The first-gen Galaxy View tablet packed 32GB/64GB internal storage and was backed by a massive 5,700mAh battery touted to deliver up to 8 hours of video playback. It also featured dual 4-watt speakers and supported connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It was priced at $599 (roughly Rs. 39,000) for the standard 32GB variant.
