Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to launch later this year. This time around, the company is expected to a new model called the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro instead of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Classic. If this turns out to be true, the company will launch the vanilla Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.

In the past, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro leak suggested that it’ll come with sapphire glass and titanium build, while some reports suggested that the watch will pack in a thermometer function. Now, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5’s wireless charger has been spotted on the FCC website revealing the charging speed of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Spotted on FCC Website

The upcoming Galaxy Watch 5’s wireless charger has been spotted on the FCC website with the EP-OR900 model number revealing the charging specification of the wearable. The wireless charger here could be a reference to the charging base of the watch, which should be similar to what we have seen on the Watch 4 and the Watch 3 series in the past. As per the database, the wireless charger will operate with 5W output.

The 5W charging speed is what it is currently being tested on. However, given the track record of Samsung, we think the company is likely to stick with the 5W charging speed with the Galaxy Watch 5 series as well. The last-gen Galaxy Watch 4 series, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic both support 5W charging as well.

Apart from this information, the website did not reveal much information about the upcoming smart wearable. There is also a rumour that Samsung is planning to remove the much loved clicky rotating bezel, but there is no clarity on the same yet. The Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to launch around August along with the next-gen foldable at an Unpacked event.

As of today, in India, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are being sold for Rs 17,999 and Rs 34,999 respectively. These watches run on Wear OS 3 platform and the upcoming Watch 5 series watches are also expected to use Google’s Wear OS operating system along with its own UI and customizations. Unlike the Galaxy Watch 4 series, the Watch 5 is expected to support Google Assistant out of the box.
