The original story follows…
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to launch later this year. This time around, the company is tipped to launch the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. If the rumours are to be believed, the company will skip the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Classic this time around as it is all set to introduce the Pro version for the first time.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 wireless charger was previously spotted on the FCC listing and now, the Galaxy Watch 5 has been spotted on the FCC database, which also confirms the charging speed of the device. Let’s take a look at the upcoming smartwatch’s details revealed in the new listing.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Listed on FCC
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 has been listed on Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revealing the model number of the wearable. The wearable has been spotted on the database with SM-R900, SM-R910, and SM-R920 model numbers. The SM-R910 is the 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 5 and the SM-R900 is the 40mm version of the same. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is liked with the SM-R920 model number.
The listing confirms a few key features of the smartwatch. For starters, the Galaxy Watch 5 will come with support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. The Watch 5 will also come with NFC, but the listing hints that this could be not part of all the Galaxy Watch 5 models and only some models might get the NFC feature. Further, the Watch 5 will come with 10W charging (5V, 2A) as input and as reported in the previous report, the watch might stick to a 5W charging speed.
Samsung Galaxy 5 Features (Expected)
In the past, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro leak suggested that it’ll come with a sapphire glass and titanium build, while some reports suggested that the watch will pack in a thermometer function. The Galaxy Watch 5 variant is said to come with a rotating bezel design. It is also rumoured to run WearOS, like the Watch 4 series. This time around, we can expect the watch to feature Google Assistant at the launch itself. The watch is also said to be wider than the predecessor model.
