
Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the Galaxy Watch 6 series. The upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 lineup is likely to include two smartwatches namely the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. These smartwatches are expected to go official by the end of July. Ahead of the launch, the Galaxy Watch 6 was recently spotted at FCC certification. The FCC listing revealed that the Galaxy Watch 6 will offer 10W wireless charging support. Now, in a recent development, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic has received the FCC approval.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Receives FCC Certification Ahead of Launch
As per the FCC listing, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic carries the model number as SM-R955 and SM-R965 respectively. The SM-R955 is the 42mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, while the SM-R965 is the 46mm version of the smartwatch. Additionally, the FCC certification reveals the wireless charger model number of the smartwatch as ER-OR900. This is the same charger which was shipped with the current Galaxy Watch 5 series. Also, as per the prior FCC certification, the Galaxy Watch 6 will also ship with the same charger.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be arriving as a successor to the current Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. It will have a circular dial and thick bezels on all sides. We can expect the smartwatch to be available in multiple strap options. As far as the specifications go, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is likely to feature a 1.47-inch display with a resolution of 470 x 470 pixels. The smartwatch is expected to ship with a 425mAh battery.
As of now, Samsung has not confirmed the launch date of the Galaxy Watch 6 series yet. However, recently Samsung had revealed that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in Seoul in late July. Maybe at this event alongside the Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5, we can expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy Watch 6 series.
