Samsung Galaxy Watch Active Features, Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active can be viewed as a trimmed down version of the Galaxy Watch which was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 9 in August 2018. The Galaxy Watch Active loses the most unique feature of Samsung’s recent smartwatches, an analog dial for UI navigation. It will feature two physical navigation buttons on the right side of the screen. Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Watch Active will have a 1.1-inch circular Super AMOLED screen with 360×360 pixels resolution, Exynos 9110 dual-core chipset, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, and a 236mAh battery.

Samsung is bringing One UI to its smartwatches with the Galaxy Watch Active and its Tizen 4.0 UI for wearables. This will bring some UI design unity among the company’s smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. The new UI uses a completely black background and colorful UI elements to make apps look really cool. The activity tracking focussed smartwatch will feature continuous heart rate tracking, multiple watchfaces focussed at activity metrics, automatic activity recognition for various workout types, and heart rate abnormality notifications. The smartwatch is also 5 ATM water resistant and can survive under 50m of water.
