Samsung is rumoured to launch two new foldable smartphones later this year. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Flip 3 will launch in July or August 2021. Tipster Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech has revealed the launch date of the upcoming Samsung foldable smartphones. The tipster claims that Samsung’s foldable smartphones will go on sale starting August 27. The tipster clarified that this is not the launch/ unveiling date but the shipping dates. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 launch date tipped
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are rumoured to launch soon. The foldable smartphones are tipped to ship starting August 27.
Tipster Jon Prosser claims that the two Samsung will start shipping the devices to customers on the said date. The tipster’s sources did not reveal the official unveiling date of the two foldable smartphones. A recent report claimed that Fold 3’s mass production has kicked off. It stated that only a third of the typical quantities are being produced. It could be due to the foldable display’s high prices or the fact the Samsung ensures high yield rates and gradually bump up the production. The report further states that the Flip 3 production is still pending. It is rumoured to launch alongside Fold 3.
The devices are rumoured to come with a discounted price tag as well. According to a SamMobile report, the upcoming smartphones will be priced 20 per cent cheaper than their predecessor. The Z Flip was launched in 2020 for USD 1,380. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was launched for $1,999.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications
Some key details of the upcoming foldable smartphone have leaked in the past. Recently leaked design images revealed that the Fold 3 will have a triple-camera setup on the back. The camera module design is simple compared to the Fold 2 and the Galaxy S21 series. It will have a 12MP + 12MP + 16MP camera sensor setup, as per previous reports. The LED flash is also placed inside the vertical module.
The device will launch in three colours – Black, Grey, and White. Samsung is also expected to launch the foldable phone in a Beige colour option. The Samsung foldable phone will also come with an under-display camera (UDC). It was previously reported that Samsung has been testing the UDC on the Z Fold 3. However, the inclusion of UDC is not confirmed yet due to logistical issues. If the company decides to go ahead with UDC, the Fold 3 will come with a 16MP front camera on the main display. It will also have a 12MP front camera on the cover display.

Galaxy Z Flip 3 specifications
Design renders of the Flip 3 have also leaked. It is rumoured to launch n four dual-tone colours – Purple, Black, White, Green. The two noticeable differences so far reveal that the foldable phone has a larger secondary display. The original Flip has a 1.1-inch cover display.
