Several reports have claimed to leak the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.3 specifications. The latest report from tipster Ice Universe gives details about a possible under-display camera. According to the tipster, Samsung could launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with an in-display camera. The company is likely to call it an “Under Panel Camera (UPC). A similar claim has been made in the past. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 could come with an under-panel camera
Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in July or August 2021. Ahead of the launch, key specifications of the foldable smartphone have leaked multiple times. The latest leak from tipster Ice Universe claims that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold could come with an under-panel camera. It would be the first Samsung smartphone to feature the under-screen camera.

Samsung has been working on an under-screen camera for quite some time. The technology seems to be ready for a commercial release later this year. The tipster did not reveal any further details about the UPC tech on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. A previous report had stated that Samsung is using a screen technology that lets light pass through the gap between pixels to click selfies. The company has also managed to add an in-display digitiser, courtesy of the second-generation ultra-thin glass.
The tipster had previously noted that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 could launch in July 2021.
Very little is known about the Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications. The device with the model number SM-F926 will come with at least 256GB of internal memory. It will also run on Android 11 with OneUI 3.5 on top. The foldable smartphone will also come with support for the S Pen, according to a report.
Axon has already taken the lead in launching the world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera on the Axon 20 5G. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 could well be Samsung’s first phone to feature the under-screen camera tech.
