Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 5G. The company is rumoured to launch its new foldable smartphones on August 10. We are still nearly three weeks away from the rumoured launch timeline. While we wait for some official details for this year’s foldable phones, new leaks about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 have leaked online.

The Z Fold 5 and the Flip 5 are expected to launch in or around August 2023. The rumour mill has churned out some key details of the two 2023 foldable phones already. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Z Flip 5 specifications, features and other details.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are expected to launch in 2023 with some key upgrades in the display, processor and camera. According to an ET News report, both foldable phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 will feature the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. If there is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, it is likely that Samsung will launch its foldable phones with the better version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2.


The report further adds that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 successor will launch with a triple-camera setup on the back. It will have a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN3 sensor. There will also be a 12MP front camera. The report did not reveal the camera specs of the Z Flip 5.

Samsung is reportedly aiming at selling over 10 million units of the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 in the second half of 2023. The company plans to four times more Z Flip units compared to the Fold 5. ET News claims that Samsung forecasts about 8 million units of the Flip 5 to be sold in the first quarter of its launch. Samsung plans to sell over 2 million units of the Z Fold 5.
