Samsung is being challenged by Chinese companies which are bringing cheaper and innovative smartphones in the Indian market. Huawei has already dethroned Apple to become the second largest smartphone maker. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is dominating the budget smartphone industry. Samsung previously used to share a huge chunk of Indian smartphone market. It seems like South Korean smartphone maker is planning to revamp its smartphone portfolio entirely to gain back that huge market share.

Samsung will introduce new innovative handsets in India in 2019

As per a report 91 Mobiles, Samsung will be bringing newly revamped handsets to the Indian market by March 2019. The brand is going to refresh its entire smartphone lineup right from the low-end to the premium segment. On top of that, Samsung is planning to bring in more innovations to the country. Samsung has lost most of its budget smartphone market to the Xiaomi, Honor and other such Chinese smartphone makers. This time, we can expect bigger changes from Samsung in low to mid-range segment. Currently, the company has the popular Galaxy J, Galaxy On and Galaxy C series in this price segment. The brand will soon replace these lineup with the new Galaxy M series. We previously reported the existence of Galaxy M20 featuring Exynos 7885 and 3GB of RAM. Samsung might go with aggressive pricing with its new Galaxy M lineup to compete with Xiaomi and the newly joined Realme.

The report further adds that Samsung is planning to adopt separate strategies for offline and online sales channels. As of now, the company is embracing the offline consumers while the same does not go for the online channels. The online market is largely dominated by companies like Xiaomi, Honor, Realme and OnePlus. Samsung recently announced Galaxy A7(2018) and Galaxy A9(2018) which touts triple and quad-camera setup respectively. Apart from the cameras, the brand is also working on a foldable design and new Infinity display panels. Samsung is known for spending a huge amount on R&D and we’re pretty excited to see what the brand has in stores for the year 2019.

In the premium segment, Samsung has two lineups, namely Galaxy S and Galaxy Note. The Korea-based manufacturer is working on the next-gen Galaxy S10 and the much-awaited Galaxy F foldable smartphone. Both the smartphones will see its official unveiling in the year 2019. The very same source also confirmed that the upcoming foldable smartphone dubbed as Galaxy F will eventually hit the Indian shore. However, the anonymous insider didn’t reveal any information regarding the launch timeline.

Coming to the innovations in the premium segment, Samsung reportedly is going to introduce next-gen OLED displays dubbed as M9, new Infinity displays and much more. Apart from hardware, it seems like Samsung has also started focussing more on the software side. The brand is already excited to ship the new improved Bixby 3.0 with the foldable Galaxy F. On top of this, Samsung also started testing its new clean OneUI for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones.

The Galaxy S10 is expected to come with a 6.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED display. It is going to be powered by the brand’s upcoming Exynos chipset based on the 7nm architecture process. It is also going to feature an IP68 certification. In terms of optics, there is likely going to be a dual 13MP+13MP camera setup at the back and a single 8MP selfie shooter. All of this is expected to run on a 3500mAh battery packed inside.
